Many people dream of a life where they can party, have fun and get paid to do just that and this is exactly what Snooki and JWOWW from “Jersey Shore” get to do. These two women have made partying their lifestyle and have it down to a science.

Snooki, 24, and JWOWW, 26, aka Nicole Polizzi and Jennifer Farley respectively, were plucked from relative obscurity and became household names due to their antics on the wildly popular MTV reality show, “Jersey Shore”. Since then, they have used their fame to cash in, both penning books about the Jersey lifestyle. Beyond that, JWOWW launched her own clothing line, “Filthy Couture” and Snooki has gone on to make guest appearances on other shows like TLC’s “Cake Boss” and even appeared at WWE’s equivalent of the Super Bowl “Wrestlemania XXVII.”

While on “Jersey Shore” the duo have gone to some of the world’s greatest hot spots, from Seaside Heights, N.J. to Miami, Florida and even Florence, Italy but when Fox 411 asked Snooki and JWOWW about their favorite destination, the unanimous vote was “Sin City,” Las
Vegas.

This city of lights located in the deserts of Nevada is a paradise for those who want to make a date with lady luck, see fantastic shows and just have a good time partying the night away. Polizzi and Farley give the do’s and don’ts to Las Vegas “Jersey Shore” style.

Last weekend, Dion cancelled a string of shows at Caesars Palace Colosseum through this Saturday so she could recover from a virus.

She sought advice from laryngeal physiology expert Gerald Berke in Los Angeles. He found weakness in her right vocal chord after a viral illness, and recommended more rest.

Singer Celine Dion has canceled more shows at Las Vegas’ Caesars Palace, citing a virus causing an inflammation of her vocal cords. Christi Nelson, an official with show producer AEG Live, said Tuesday that the French-Canadian pop superstar has been ordered to rest her voice for six to eight weeks and will resume performances June 9.

“I tried to sing at my sound check last week, and I had no control of my voice whatsoever,” Dion said in a statement. “We thought that after a few days’ rest I would improve, but it wasn’t getting any better.”

Officials announced last weekend that Dion was canceling shows through March 3. On Monday, she was diagnosed with a viral illness and weakness in her right vocal cord by Dr. Gerald Burke, an authority in laryngeal physiology at UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles.

The singer of romantic odes including “My Heart Will Go On” and “It’s All Coming Back to Me Now” returned to Caesars Palace a year ago for a three-year engagement.

The Las Vegas Strip casino spent $95 million building the Colosseum for Dion in 2003, complete with a humidifier to protect her voice. After a five-year run at the casino, she embarked on a world tour and took time off for her family, giving birth to twin boys in 2010.

Tickets to the new show in Las Vegas sell for up to $250 apiece.

Dion said the doctor assured her she’ll be “back to 100 percent” after resting her voice, but she said she’s disappointed by the cancellations.

“Obviously this is the worst thing for a singer … not being able to do your shows,” she said. “I feel worse knowing that I’m disappointing my fans. I’m so sorry … I hope they forgive me.”

Vegas. In some ways, it’s “American Idol’s” cruelest round. Having been put through auditions, flights to California, the exigencies of Hollywood’s group and solo rounds, and a bus ride to Sin City –- all the while watching lesser candidates sent home –- at this point, those that have remained can probably be forgiven for eyeing the finish line and tasting victory. Although those “I’m going to be the next American Idol” declarations seem far-fetched during those cattle-call auditions, by the time auditions roll into Glitter Gulch, they seem, if not entirely, at least somewhat plausible. Someone’s got to win this thing, and whoever does will have been among the 70 eager young people the judges deemed worthy of stepping onto the “Viva Elvis” stage to sing songs from the ’50s and ’60s.

Alas, whoever wins will not be among the 28 whose hopes we watched slip away Thursday night, when the Vegas Strip (and three reluctant celebrity judges) stripped them of their shot at the “Idol” crown. Yes, on “American Idol,” the city of Lost Wages is truly the city of Lost Dreams.

Geez, have I been watching this show too long? I’m starting to write the way Ryan Seacrest talks!

Bottom line, we saw a variety of old songs performed in a variety of old and new ways and with admirable restraint, overall, when it came to bobby socks and poodle skirts and greaser jackets. Most of the contestants did pretty well, but hey, someone had to get cut. And so Randy Jackson, Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler trimmed away one hopeful here and one there, only to realize -– Holy Graceland! -– at the end of day one, it looked like they hadn’t cut nearly deeply enough to get to their magic number: 40.

So what did they do? They called all the contestants back in and told them that -– after all that “you’re through to the next round” excitement and jumping around and whatnot -– some of them weren’t really safe. Depending on how day two in Vegas went, there could be more cuts.

Which is exactly what happened. And the contestants that were sent home after having initially been put through? Well, they weren’t very happy about it. Nor was last year’s near-miss Colton Dixon, whose sister, lush redhead Schyler Dixon, had been deemed safe after dressing like an Andrews Sister and singing Frankie Lymon & the Teenagers’ “Why Do Fools Fall in Love,” only to get chopped the next day. “It’s not right. You know it’s not right,” said Colton, who had accompanied his sister to auditions this year with no plans to participate himself but wound up taking a coveted spot in what turned out to be the final 42.

Well, all 70 couldn’t have made it through, and so (back to Seacrest mode) we said goodbye to promising early talents such as apparently erstwhile J.Lo crush Johnny Keyser (he seemed surprised, but I think he may have sealed his fate by continuing to sing in the midst of a groupmate’s medical emergency back in Hollywood); Gabi Carrubba (“I’m embarrassed,” she said tearfully after getting the bad news, and she’ll be really embarrassed when she realizes that the producers cut the Vegas rehearsal tape to make her look like a diva); Angie Zeiderman (whose microscopic yet apparently shakable “tail feathers” Tyler found praiseworthy, but not praiseworthy enough to keep around); Brittnee Kellogg (who bitterly griped that every performance she’d given had been “perfect. I don’t get it”); and a host of others.

Laughing tourists were either cynical or confused about whether a man was really suffering a medical episode amid the “doctor,” ‘’nurses” and health warnings at the Heart Attack Grill in Las Vegas, a restaurant owner said Wednesday.

“It was no joke,” said Jon Basso, who promotes himself “Doctor Jon,” his scantily-clad waitresses as nurses and customers as patients.

Basso said he could tell right away the man in his 40s eating a Triple Bypass burger was having trouble. He was sweating, shaking and could barely talk.

Paramedics were called Saturday night, fire spokesman Tim Szymanski said, and the man was hospitalized. His name and information about his condition weren’t made public.

Giggles can be heard on the soundtrack of amateur video showing the man on a stretcher being wheeled out of the restaurant where patrons pass an antique ambulance at the door and a sign: “Caution! This establishment is bad for your health.”

Eaters are given surgical gowns as they choose from a calorically extravagant menu offering “Bypass” burgers, “Flatliner” fries, buttermilk shakes and free meals to folks over 350 pounds.

Basso said he hopes the man is OK, and added that he felt bad for him because tourists treated his misfortune like a joke.

“We would never pull a stunt like that,” he said.

It was a scene hardly out of place these days in Sin City.

Big-time gamblers, primarily from Asia, are flocking to Las Vegas to play baccarat and providing a big lift to the overall bottom line of the city’s casinos.

Baccarat has easily surpassed blackjack in terms of casino revenue in Las Vegas and now represents nearly 60 percent of the MGM Grand’s table games revenue over the past year. It’s especially popular this week with tens of thousands of tourists from Asia in town to celebrate the Chinese New Year.

“For us to make money in gaming today without baccarat is almost impossible,” said Debra Nutton, senior vice president of casino operations at the MGM Grand hotel-casino. “We need the big whales to make money.”

In Las Vegas parlance, a “whale” is a big-time gambler who easily wagers more in one night at the tables than most American families make in a year. Casinos cater to them with plush, secluded gambling salons inside the top casinos — with baccarat games that often start out at a minimum $10,000 per hand.

The whales typically favor baccarat — a game romanticized in James Bond flicks and highly popular in Macau and Singapore.

The game is built on a simple premise: Who will end up with a better hand, the player or the banker? Gamblers are dealt two cards and predict whether they will beat the banker, typically a position that rotates among the players at the table. Smaller tables, known as midi-baccarat, start at $100 limits and look more like large blackjack tables, skipping the rotating banker and leaving that role to the dealer. Even smaller-limit tables are called mini-baccarat.

Nevada figures show that during the 12 months ending Nov. 30, casinos statewide won $1.27 billion from baccarat players, with the game offered at 258 total tables in 24 casinos. Blackjack, meanwhile, pulled in just $1.03 billion — even though it was offered across 2,810 tables in 151 casinos.

While casinos hope to pocket 12 percent of the money wagered on baccarat, the large amounts played in fewer bets mean big swings in revenue quarter to quarter, depending on how lucky the gamblers are.

Slots are still the most popular and lucrative form of gambling in Nevada, with nearly 165,000 machines over 330 locations including supermarket, gas stations and airports.

Baccarat has been the most lucrative table game since 2009, and has been increasing its share since then, according to an analysis of gambling revenues by Dave Schwartz, director of the Center for Gaming Research at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
