Health district sees Vegas salmonella cases rise

Las Vegas-area health officials don’t know the exact source, but are reporting an increase in cases of salmonella bacteria infection usually associated with eggs and poultry.

Southern Nevada Health District spokeswoman Stephanie Bethel said Wednesday there have been 30 cases of Salmonella enteritidis in southern Nevada since January. That’s four times the usual number.
