Excessive heat watch issued for Las Vegas

Stay out of the sun, find some air conditioning and ice up the cold drinks — temperatures are searing up to 110 degrees today and could even get up to 115 degrees over the next couple of days.

The National Weather Service has issued an excessive heat watch Friday and Saturday for Las Vegas and much of the Mohave Desert.

A strong area of high pressure building over the area will lead to a hot temperatures Friday afternoon through Saturday evening, the weather service said.
