Celine Dion renews her Vegas performance for 2011

Celine Dion will be returning to Las Vegas for a three-year stint at Caesar’s Palace, after having closed out her previous five-year Vegas run in 2007 with the $400 million grossing “A New Day.” Yeah that’s a boatload of money, but you’d be surprised by how dedicated this woman’s fanbase is. Don’t underestimate those French-Canadians.

Beginning March 11, 2011, fans and masochists alike will be able to catch Dion belting out a host of classic covers and fan favorites, all bound together by the theme of classic romantic films. Tickets went on sale today for the first 54 shows, with prices running from $55 to $250. They can be purchased at Ticket Master.

While the collision of the “My Heart Will Go On” singer and Sin City doesn’t exactly bode well for subtlety and restraint, an official statement from Dion promises that the show will go so far as to outdo the typically larger-than-life “A New Day”
